  • Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson re-enters the UK top 20 following his $45,970 score at PokerStars.

  • Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas closes in on the Irish number one spot.

There wasn’t a whole lot of change in either the United Kingdom’s or Ireland online poker tournament rankings when PocketFives updated its database over the weekend, although one player soared back into the UK top 20 following a large win at PokerStars.

Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson hails from Chesterfield but currently resides in sunny Playa del Carmen in Mexico and has been ranked as highly as 16th in the world during 2016. Margereson smashed through the $4 million in online winnings barrier last weekend when he topped a field of 239 players in the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday Grand NLHE for $45,970. The leaderboard points from this victory saw Margereson climb from 25th place in the UK rankings to 17th.

Deservedly, Owain “sngwonder” Carey entered the top 10 of the UK standings. Carey has been putting in some excellent results at partypoker, including winning the $25K Gtd PKO High Roller for $9,370, going deep in the $100K Gtd Super High Roller for $5,693 and taking down the $20K Gtd High Roller for $9,273. The points earned for that last win haven’t been added to Carey’s profile yet, but when they do, expect him to climb even higher up the table.

Still leading the way is Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford who has a lead of exactly 35 points from Patrick “pleno1” Leonard. Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich, Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell and “carpediem200” make up the top five, with the latter enjoying a $9,783 score for finishing fourth in the $150K Gtd Main Event at partypoker.

Leeds’ Jamie “EzGame89” O’Connor kept check on the top 10 places by finishing second in the PokerStars Big $215, a result that banked him $6,451; O’Connor recently finished 22nd in the DTD 1000 event that Ben Dobson won and walked away with £3,750.

Geleziunas Zoning in on the Number One Spot in Ireland

James “Jaymo” Noonan is the man to catch at the summit of the Irish online poker rankings, but how long for is a question that remains open. Noonan currently enjoys a narrow 62 point lead over Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas, a gap that could be bridged any moment.

Noonan took down the $16.50 NLHE 6-Max Hyper-Turbo at PokerStars for $1,528 but Geleziunas continues to log some ridiculous volume and has added plenty of pot-limit Omaha tournaments to his schedule and these smaller fields are allowing him to go deep and secure more leaderboard points.

A special mention has to go to Toby “Jobytoyce” Joyce who broke through the $2 million in winnings barrier recently; Joyce occupies third place in the Irish rankings.

Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson, the former Irish number one, enjoyed a $3,222 score by finishing second in the PokerStars $109 NLHE 6-Max Hyper-Turbo, while Daragh “daragh999” Davey is now close to $1.6 million in online winnings following his $1,461 score awarded for winning the $6,000 Breeze at 888poker.

Last, but not least, a doff of the cap to both Cathal “shinerrr” Shine who won the $10K Gtd PKO Big Brawl II at partypoker for $2,418 and to “Rowniwn” who triumphed in the $33 Bounty Builder at PokerStars for $4,848.
