The final table began with three Brazilians and three Hungarians among the survivors. However, it was “DSmunichlife” well on top of the pack with a 2:1 chip advantage over his nearest opponent. He steamrolled through the final table by eliminating seven of his eight opponents and piling up huge bounty prizes in the process.
The German kicked the final table off on a roll and eliminated the first four players at the final table. He first took out Hungary’s “remenyrabja” in ninth place for $4,195 ($3,295 + $900 in bounties) and Brazil’s “dalonhb” in eighth place for $5,869 ($4,659 + $1,209 in bounties) after he wound up on the better end of preflop flips once the board ran out in his favor.
Hungary’s “paniaguamos” was the next victim of “DSmunichlife”. The Hungarian was all in good with pocket aces with his opponent drawing eight outs towards and open-ended straight draw. However, one of those outs came on the river and “paniguamos” exited the tournament in seventh place for $8,627 ($6,590 + $2,037 in bounties).
American poker refugee Jeremy “EndlessJ” Menard, who has four PocketFives Triple Crowns and is approaching $5 million in online tournament cashes according to PocketFives, was the next to be eliminated in sixth place for $12,636 ($9,320 + $3,316 in bounties) after his pocket sixes proved to be no match for the pocket aces held by “DSmunichlife”.
Shortly after, “wisopekeño!” was eliminated in fifth place for $13,666 ($13,180 + $486 in bounties) after he jammed ace-three suited and was unable to improve against the pocket queens held by Brazil’s “Ruis Maker”.
After a brief break from eliminating opponents, “DSmunichlife” was back at it eliminating the final three players in succession. He first took out Brazil’s Regis “capotinha” Kogler in fourth place for $27,927 ($18,640 + $9,287 in bounties) after his pocket queens held against his opponent’s pocket jacks.
Very soon after, the German eliminated Hungary’s “thegr8str8” in third place for $30,130 ($26,361 + $3,769 in bounties) when his pocket sevens outflipped his opponent’s ace-queen.
Thanks to eliminating almost the entire final table, “DSmunichlife” entered the heads-up match with an almost 5:1 chip advantage over “Ruis Maker”. His opponent was able to narrow the edge down to around 2:1 when the final hand took place.
“Ruis Maker” five-bet shoved preflop with pocket tens and was called by “DSmunichlife” with ace-king suited. An ace spiked the flop and “Ruis Maker” was unable to improve his hand on the turn or river to be eliminated in second place for $39,880 ($37,280 + $2,600 in bounties).
Meanwhile, “DSmunichlife” won his first WCOOP title in perhaps the most dominating fashion of the year and walked away with an impressive haul of $90,120 ($52,723 + $37,398 in bounties).
