Dallas Cowboys to cover -7 against the the Baltimore Ravens
The juggernaut that is the Dallas Cowboys offense simply shows no signs of slowing down after racking up eight straight wins, boasting an 8-1 record, with that only defeat coming in week one of the season. During that eight game winning spell, Dallas has covered the spread in all games, with an average winning margin of 11 points during that sequence.
The Cowboys benefit with a return to Texas on Sunday, following back-to-back road games, where the offense’s two star rookies, quarterback, Dak Prescott, and running back, Ezekiel Elliott, are tipped to fire the team to a ninth straight victory, covering the handicap in the process.
Sunday’s visitors are the Baltimore Ravens, a team with playoff aspirations, themselves, as they enter week 11 with a 5-4 record. Have a run of form that has seen them lose four of their last six, failing to cover in each of the four games that they have lost.
The Ravens do benefit from a 10 day break after playing on Thursday night in week 10, but a trip to a formidable Dallas team looks a big ask for a team that has flattered to deceive, even in victory, so far this season.
Detroit Lions to cover -6.5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Detroit Lions return home on Sunday, after back-to-back road games an a bye week, where they will be looking to improve on three straight wins in Motor City. The Lions currently sit top of the NFC North with a 5-4 record and a playoff berth firmly in their own hands, with four of those wins coming in the last five games.
All five of those wins have seen the Lions cover the spread at the same time and they are taken to continue that trend against a struggling Jacksonville Jaguars, that has a 2-7 record, including four straight losses! The three defeats they have suffered on the road this season have come with a losing margin of 14 points and against a Lions team that is seemingly going from strength-to-strength, the home side are taken to cover -6.5 points in victory.
Miami Dolphins to cover -1.5 @ LA Rams
The LA Rams are bad! Don’t be fooled by last week’s win on the road against an equally woeful New York Jets, when three field goals were sufficient to secure a 9-6 victory. Prior to that, they had lost four on the bounce and have failed to score more than 19 points in seven of their first nine matches! To that extent, head coach, Jeff Fisher, rang the changes midweek, naming number one overall draft pick, Jared Goff, the team’s start and it will be his first NFL start against a Miami Dolphins defense that has six intercapetions in its last two games!
Goff surely has plenty of talent to have been drafted number one overall, but to think he is going to realise that potential straight out of the gate is very optimistic and Miami is taken to take full advantage of what is already a struggling offense and make it five wins on the bounce! They have won their last four, by covering the spread in all, with an average winning margin of seven points; Sunday’s spread has been set at -1.5 and the Dolphins should have no problems in covering.
